Joy of All Nations Church
Atlanta, GA
Tell us about the work God has called you to.
God has called us to plant Joy of All Nations church in Atlanta, GA. We are located in an area of one of the fastest growing populations of South Asians in the country. One of our elementary school has 75% of the children being Indian and the vast majority are unchurched. Our desire is to have a minority-led multiethnic church that can flourish the nations locally and globally.
What is your best ministry moment?
My greatest joys in ministry are most often seeing people come to faith (especially a South Asian seeing that from Hindu or Muslim or Sikh backgrounds) or return home to Christ as prodigals. We've seen the Lord do that in our years of campus ministry and in our church plant. There is rejoicing in heaven when one lost person is brought home.
What are your hopes for Advance?
I really am praying the Lord uses Advance to continue to create visibility, encouragement, imagination, and genuine pathways for more South Asians to pursue a calling in ministry. Also more generally for all South Asians (vocational ministry or not) to not just be passive, but to take more active roles of leadership in kingdom work as I think there are so many latent gifts and passions that can be unlocked.
What would you say to someone considering ministry?
I'd say reach out to someone who is in ministry and can help be a mentor and encouragement to know that their desires are good and should be explored. Jesus said the harvest is plentiful and the laborers are few. We need more laborers who are in vocational ministry...so consider Jesus' call to leave the nets of financial security and the American dream for the greatest adventure of following Jesus in this kingdom dream.
